Welcome to Ujima Retreat Center, a restorative country escape nestled on 7.5 acres in rural Urbana, where nature, comfort, and holistic wellness come together. Our centerpiece is a beautiful 2.5-acre spring-fed pond, fully stocked for your enjoyment. Unwind in our cozy barrel sauna and hot tub, accommodating 4–6 people at a time. Our outdoor pavilion comfortably seats 20, perfect for gatherings, and features charcoal grills for authentic outdoor cooking. We offer 6 kayaks for exploring the pond.

 

Our newly built 900 sq ft cottage provides all the comforts of home, featuring 6 beds (3 queen and 3 twin XL), a full kitchen, a complete bathroom, and heating and cooling. The cottage also includes a fireplace perfect for relaxing evenings and a 60-inch television for entertainment. You can stay connected with Wi-Fi for a comfortable and modern retreat experience. For larger groups, camping tents are available, allowing you to fully immerse yourself in nature.

 

Gather around our brick fire pit for bonfires under the stars—ideal for storytelling, music, and meaningful connection. An outdoor sink and outhouse add extra convenience for campers and outdoor events.

 

Enhance your stay with a walk along our forest bathing trail, designed to ground and restore your connection to the natural world through mindful movement and sensory awareness. Relax in our hammock lounge, nestled among the trees and perfect for napping, reading, or cloud-watching. Visit our sound healing garden, where wind chimes offer gentle auditory therapy to reduce stress and promote inner peace. Don’t miss our aroma garden, filled with fragrant lavender known to support emotional balance, restful sleep, and a sense of calm.

 

We also host a community vegetable garden, which offers hands-on education in sustainable food practices and helps nourish local families in need. It’s one of the many ways Ujima fosters collective wellness and mutual care.
